About the role

As part of the reinforcement of its IT Quality Management function, Ooredoo is looking for Senior Functional QA Engineers to lead functional testing activities across enterprise IT systems and applications.

This role is designed for experienced QA professionals who can define functional test strategies, coordinate SIT and UAT phases, manage defect lifecycles, support release quality decisions, and mentor Functional QA Engineers.

Main responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality Management team, you will be responsible for:

• Defining functional test strategies, master test plans, and entry/exit criteria for assigned projects.
• Analysing business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Reviewing and approving functional test cases before execution.
• Leading SIT execution and coordinating UAT activities with business stakeholders and Product Owners.
• Managing the full functional defect lifecycle: documentation, prioritisation, tracking, resolution follow-up, and closure.
• Performing root cause analysis on critical or recurring defects and producing structured recommendations.
• Validating defect fixes and conducting regression testing to ensure no new defects are introduced.
• Coaching and supporting Functional QA Engineers on test design, defect analysis, and testing tools.
• Producing test execution reports, defect dashboards, and quality gate evidence for release approvals.
• Ensuring that testing activities comply with the QA governance framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software QA, software testing, or functional testing.
• At least 2 years in a senior, lead, or QA referent role.
• Strong experience in SIT, UAT coordination, regression testing, and functional test planning.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, or similar.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Knowledge of API testing and integration testing.
• Experience in telecom, banking, large-scale IT, or complex enterprise environments is highly appreciated.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
